OH Freestyle’s upstart editor and producer, Kyle Decker, rose to the top of a length list of applicants for this year’s Level 1 Summer/Fall internship, and was selected to fill the luminous position.
“I applied for the internship because I wanted to learn everything and anything I could about the production process of super action ski flicks,” said Decker. “I feel the best way to learn all the ins and outs are through experience, not by reading a book. I was really stoked when Josh told me that I was the new intern. I plan on giving it 110% and absorbing everything I learn from the entire Level 1 staff. I look forward to moving into the Level 1 mansion and floating’ around with some hot babes in the lazy river/moat that surrounds the compound.
Shortly after learning he was awarded the internship, Kyle got the call to enter this year’s Orage Clip competition. “The Clip contest was something I’ve always thought was a really cool idea, so I set a goal to get into the contest NEXT year,” added Decker. “By surprise Josh recommended me to Cody Lynge at Orage to fill an open spot in the contest, and the ball started to roll. Since I was already out in Utah getting last minute shots, I extended my flight and drove out with a few friends.”
“Going into this contest I knew I was just some random nobody from Ohio competing against names like Level 1 and Offtrail. The whole 24 hours was filled with sleeping, thinking, editing, filming, authoring, drinking, eating, and ohh yea skiing.” ‘Random nobody’ Decker came out guns blazing, and in what can only be described as a lengthy and drawn out judging process, at 2:30 am, was finally awarded this year’s prize, a new Macbook Pro computer.
